Keyboard interaction options: configures how arrow keys, Tab, Enter, Delete, Home, End, Insert, and shortcut keys behave within the grid.

Reached through the grid's Options.Keyboard. Changes take effect on the next key press; they do not repaint the grid.

Properties

Name Description
AppendColumnOnArrowKeyRight When True, pressing the right arrow key while on the last column appends a new column. Default is False.
AppendRowOnArrowKeyDown When True, pressing the down arrow key while on the last row appends a new row. Default is False.
ArrowKeyDirectEdit When True, arrow keys navigate out of an active inplace editor and continue editing in the adjacent cell. Default is False.
CellMergeShortcut When True, enables the Ctrl+M shortcut that merges the selected cell range and the Ctrl+S shortcut that splits the merged cell at the selection start. Default is False.
DeleteKeyHandling Determines what happens when the Delete key is pressed: nothing (gdkhNone, default), delete the focused row, or clear the selected cells.
EndKeyHandling Determines what happens when the End key is pressed. Default is genkhLastColumn.
EnterKeyDirectEdit When True, confirming an inplace edit with Enter immediately opens the editor again in the cell focus moves to. Default is False.
EnterKeyHandling Determines where focus moves after an inplace edit is confirmed with Enter. Default is gekhNone (focus stays on the edited cell).
FindShortcut When True, enables the Ctrl+F shortcut to open the Find dialog and F3 / Shift+F3 to find the next / previous match. Default is True.
HomeKeyHandling Determines what happens when the Home key is pressed. Default is ghkhFirstColumn.
InsertKeyHandling Determines what happens when the Insert key is pressed: nothing (gikhNone, default), or insert a row before or after the focused row.
PageScrollSize Number of rows to scroll per Page Up / Page Down key press. 0 (default) means one full visible page.
ReplaceShortcut When True, enables the Ctrl+H shortcut to open the Replace dialog. Default is True.
TabKeyDirectEdit When True, pressing Tab immediately opens the in-place editor for the newly focused cell. Default is False.
TabKeyDirection Controls whether Tab advances to the next column or the next row. Default is gtkdNextColumnCell.
TabKeyHandling Controls whether Tab navigates between grid cells, moves focus to the next control, or navigates cells and leaves the grid at the last cell (gtkhMixed, default).
